Gorobets Pavlo Matviyevich
(1905 – 1976)
Gorobets Pavlo Matviyevich – was born on the 15th of January, 1905 in Poltava city. He studied at the Poltava Art Studio in 1922-1926, and at the Kharkiv Art College in 1928-1932. Mentors: M. Andryushin, S. Fedotov, G. Ciss, M. Burachek. Painter, graphic artist, art critic. He worked in the field of easel painting, graphics, and art criticism. Member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1945. Worked at the Poltava Art Museum in 1964-1973. Participated in republican exhibitions since 1926. Personal exhibitions: in Poltava (1946-1947, 1956, 1958, 1963, 1965, 1967, 1973), in Kharkiv (1964), Kyiv (1973). Paintings of the artist are presented in many museums of Ukraine. Lived and worked in Poltava city. The artist died on the 25th of October, 1974.
