Khmelyuk Vasyl Mykhailovych
Khmelyuk Vasyl Mykhailovych was born on July 31, 1903, in the Berezivka village of Vinnytsia region. Ukrainian post-impressionist artist, and poet. From 1921 he studied at the Kraków Academy of Sciences in V. Yarotsky, and in 1928 he graduated from USPI in Prague in S. Mako. Since 1928, he lived and worked in Paris, where he became one of the central figures of artistic life. Despite the post-war financial crisis, the French government purchased the master's works. The artist published three collections of poems in Prague (1923-1928). Exhibited in famous European galleries. In 1933-1936, exhibitions were held in England, Italy and Switzerland. Since 1943, the artist collaborated with the Durand-Ruel Gallery, which organized exhibitions for him in Paris, New York, and other cities. The artist's works are presented in the Lviv CG, the Museum of Modern Art in Paris, the Oxford University gallery, museums in London, New York, Philadelphia, Munich, Toronto, Stockholm, Lucerne, etc. d. The artist died on November 1, 1986.
