Konovalyuk Fedir Zotikovich
Konovalyuk Fedir Zotikovich – was born on 22th of March, 1890 in Kalavtsi village, Chernihiv region. An outstanding painter, colorist, and illustrator. He studied at Kyiv Art College and Kyiv Art Institute. Mentors: Izhakevich I., Menc V., Murashko O., Johanson B., Krichevsky F., Belyaev V. Worked in the field of easel painting and book graphics. Since 1911 he participated in republican, all-Union exhibitions. The first personal exhibition was held in 1955. In the early twentieth century, Konovalyuk, together with Izhakevich, painted icons. The main works: illustrations for the works of Kotlyarevsky I. (1939 - 1940), Shevchenko T., paintings "Catherine" (1944); "Messengers of Bohdan Khmelnytsky", a series of landscapes "Kyiv" (1908 - 1969) and others. The artist died in 1984.
