Manaylo Fedir
Manaylo Fedir Fedorovich – was born on 19th of October, 1910 in Ivanovtsy village, Transcarpathia region. He studied at the Higher Art - Industrial School in Prague. Mentors: Brunner, Goughbauer, Kratochvil. Ukrainian painter and graphic artist. Worked in the field of easel and monumental painting, the author of landscapes, still lives, and plot compositions. Since 1946 – a member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine. Member of regional, republican, all-Union, and foreign art exhibitions. The first personal exhibition was held in Uzhgorod, in 1961. Main works: illustrations for Ivan Frank`s novel "Zakhar Berkut", works by Mark Cheremshina and Olga Kobylianska, and the collection "Folk Ballads of Transcarpathia". Since 1972 – Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR. Since 1976 – National Artist of Ukraine. Works are presented in numerous museums and private collections in Ukraine and abroad. Fedir Fedorovich died on the 15th of January, 1978.
