Plamenitsky Anatoly Oleksandrovich
Plamenitsky Anatoly Oleksandrovich – was born in 1920 in the village of Yagodnoye, now the Grachevsky district, the Orenburg region of Russia. From 1939 to 1940 he studied at the Baku Art School. In 1953 he graduated from the Kyiv State Art Institute. He studied at M. Sharonov, M. Ivanov, K. Eleva, and I. Shtilman, and from the fourth year in the workshop of A. Shovkunenko, where T. Yablonskaya and V. Puzyrkov were assistants. Since 1954 – a participant in city, republican, all-Union, and foreign art exhibitions. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. He worked in the field of easel painting and the genre of historical painting, a master of landscape. Since 1963 – senior lecturer, and since 1977 – professor at the Department of Painting of the Kyiv State Art Institute. Since 1964 Honored Art Worker of the Ukrainian SSR. In 1976 he was awarded the title People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR. The artist died on September 10, 1982. The artist's works are presented in museums and private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
