Shteinberg Moses Aronovich
Shteinberg Moses Aronovich – was born in 1883 in Kyiv. He graduated from the painting branch of the Kyiv Art School in 1912 and attended free workshops at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts in 1918. Participated in the spring and autumn academic exhibitions in St. Petersburg, Kyiv, and Kharkiv from 1909 to 1910. He was writing articles on art subjects for the "White Guard" magazine (1919-1921). He graduated from the Ukrainian Academy of Arts in 1922. He graduated from the Kyiv Art Institute in 1927 and was awarded with mentor title. Associate Professor of the Kyiv Art Institute from 1933 to 1941. Since 1938 – Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. Since 1945 – Professor of the Kyiv Art Institute. From 1945 to 1950 he was the Head of the Department of Artistic Discipline at the Kyiv Institute of Civil Engineering. Participant of numerous exhibitions. The artist`s works are stored in more than 35 art museums and galleries of the former Soviet Union: The Tretyakov Gallery, the St. Petersburg Museum of Academy of Arts, the State Russian Museum, and others. The artist died in 1967.
