Ryzhykh Viktor Ivanovich
Ryzhykh Viktor Ivanovich was born on July 29, 1933, in Omsk, Russia. In 1958 he graduated from the Kyiv Art Institute, where he studied at the workshop of battle and historical painting. Mentors: K. D. Trokhimenko, V. G. Puzyrkov, G. S. Melikhov. Member of the Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR since 1961. Participant in art exhibitions: republican - since 1959, all-Union - since 1967, foreign - since 1974. Main works: "Relics of Brest" (1968), "Search" (1975), "Kyiv Football" (1979), "On the Capitol" (1990), "Girona" (1997). Several paintings the artist created in collaboration with his wife Neledva Galina Oleksandrivna. He worked in the field of easel painting. Master of plot compositions, landscapes, and still lifes. Personal exhibitions of the artist were held in Kyiv (1980, 1984, 1993, 1997, 2002, 2003, 2009, 2010), Z Zaporizhzhya (2013), Moscow (1982), Georgia 1983, 1984), in the USA (1992), in Spain (1996). In 1980 he was awarded the title - "Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR". Since 2004 - "People's Artist of Ukraine". Since 2001, a corresponding member, and since 2006 - a full member of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine. Works are presented in the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, the National Art Museum of Ukraine, in numerous museums, galleries, and private collections in Ukraine and abroad. The artist died on December 13, 2021.
